Who would not want a scholarship at Princeton University? Not only do you get top higher education but you can also forget about the almost $50,000 a year you need to pay for tuition, room and board and books. The tuition may soar at this Ivy League University but Princeton is not snobbish at all. In fact, it has prided its admission to be need-blind. Being need-blind entails accepting students without considering their financial backgrounds. The university accepts students who come from low economic backgrounds. It also discourages the students from applying for student loans by not offering loans in the university. Loans can be very difficult to pay back after graduation, with the total including high interest rates. Instead, the academic instution offers grants and outside scholarships. It also encourages students to apply for on campus jobs if money becomes tight.

If you want an outside scholarship, you need to apply on the February before the school year you intend to start studying at Princeton. That is the same month you can apply for a campus job or a grant. If you visit the university’s official website, you can find the necessary form, the Princeton financial aid application (PFAA). The question now is, where do you find an outside scholarship for Princeton? Some organizations that offer scholarships are the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, the National Merit, the United Negro College Fund and the Law Enforcement Officer Memorial (LEOM) Scholarships Program. Most of the scholarships require you to be at least a US citizen. The United Negro College Fund is open to African Americans while the LEOM is open to children of New Jersey police officers who have been killed in the line of duty. There are many other scholarships available in the state and across the United States.
You can be admitted to Princeton University without even being able to afford the tuition. Still, it would be great to be admitted with a scholarship, hopefully even a full one.
